Xi Jinping Calls for Unity in Spring Festival Greetings to Non-CPC Groups

As China ushers in the Spring Festival, or Chinese Lunar New Year, on January 29, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, held an annual gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Monday.

In a gesture of unity and collaboration, Xi extended festive greetings to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front.

Addressing the attendees, Xi emphasized China's commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macro policies. He highlighted the nation's focus on high-quality development and the promotion of greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain sound social and economic development in 2025.

\"Achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan is crucial,\" Xi stated. \"We must lay a solid foundation for the next five years.\"

He called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to concentrate on central tasks and serve the country's overall interests. Xi urged them to leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength.

Xi expressed hope that these groups would mobilize positive forces to advance development. He encouraged them to actively contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promoting high-quality development, and formulating proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

He also stressed the importance of addressing critical and challenging problems, such as the supervision of the Yangtze River ecosystem's protection.

\"The protection of our environment is a shared responsibility,\" Xi remarked. \"We must tackle the difficult issues to ensure sustainable development.\"

Xi highlighted the role of the ACFIC in guiding the private sector. He encouraged the federation to help private enterprises maintain enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolster confidence in development, and establish and improve modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.

As the nation prepares to celebrate the Spring Festival, Xi's messages underscore a collective effort towards unity, innovation, and sustainable growth.
