China Sends 170 Athletes to Harbin Asian Winter Games

China is set to host the Harbin Asian Winter Games starting on February 7th, and has assembled a strong delegation to compete in the event. The delegation held a meeting at the General Administration of Sport on Friday as final preparations are underway.

The Chinese delegation consists of 257 members, including 170 athletes who will compete in all 64 events. This marks the third time that China has hosted the Asian Winter Games, and the nation is eager to showcase its talents on home ice and snow.

Among the athletes are 85 men and 85 women, with an average age of 23. The oldest athlete is 40 years old, while the youngest is just 16, highlighting both experience and youthful energy within the team. Notably, 147 athletes are making their debut at the Asian Winter Games, bringing fresh talent to the forefront.

The team includes 48 athletes who competed at the Beijing Winter Olympics, among them Gu Ailing and Xu Mengtao, who are celebrated Olympic champions. With six Olympic gold medalists in the delegation, China aims to deliver a strong performance across all disciplines.

The Harbin Asian Winter Games represents a significant opportunity for China to promote winter sports and inspire a new generation of athletes. As the host nation, China is committed to providing a world-class sporting event and fostering goodwill among the participating countries and regions.
