Chinese Vice President Han Zheng Meets U.S. Business Leaders to Strengthen China-U.S. Relations

Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with representatives of the U.S. business community in Washington D.C. on Sunday, aiming to strengthen China-U.S. relations and encourage continued investment in China. Han emphasized the importance of U.S. companies in fostering mutual understanding and cooperation between the two nations.

\"It is hoped that U.S. companies will continue to invest and take root in China, play an active role as a bridge, and make a greater contribution to the steady, sound, and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations,\" Han stated during the meeting.

Han is in Washington D.C. to attend the inauguration ceremony of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Monday as Chinese President Xi Jinping's special representative, highlighting the significance China places on maintaining strong bilateral ties.

The meeting included representatives from the U.S.-China Business Council and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Han noted that President Xi and President-elect Trump recently reached important common understandings regarding the development of China-U.S. relations during a phone call.

Han underscored the broad common interests and vast potential for cooperation between China and the United States. He highlighted the crucial role of the U.S. business community as participants, witnesses, contributors, and beneficiaries of bilateral economic and trade cooperation, as well as China's reform and opening-up efforts.

\"China will unswervingly advance its reform and opening-up efforts and continue to improve its business environment,\" Han added, signaling China's commitment to creating favorable conditions for foreign investors.

Representatives of the U.S. business community expressed optimism about China's economic prospects and opportunities for development. They conveyed support for strengthening dialogue and communication to continue advancing bilateral relations and economic and trade cooperation.

They remarked that the recent phone conversation between President-elect Trump and President Xi sent a positive and encouraging message, emphasizing the importance of mutually beneficial cooperation between the world's two most dynamic and technologically advanced economies.

Han also met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Sunday. He welcomed Tesla's deepening investment and cooperation with China, encouraging the company to seize opportunities to share in the fruits of China's development and contribute to promoting economic and trade exchanges between the two countries.

Musk expressed readiness to enhance Tesla's investment and cooperation in China and to play an active role in promoting economic and trade exchanges between the United States and China.
