WEF Operations Chief Highlights Sustainability and Diversity at Core of Davos Forum

In an exclusive interview with CGTN's Global Business, Severin Podolak, Head of Event Management and Operations at the World Economic Forum (WEF), emphasized the organization's commitment to sustainability and diversity at this year's Davos Forum.

Podolak highlighted that the WEF has implemented a series of measures aimed at promoting environmental responsibility. \"We tried our best to reduce, reuse, and recycle,\" he stated, outlining initiatives such as subsidizing participants who opted for public transportation to attend the event. These efforts reflect the WEF's dedication to minimizing its environmental footprint and setting a standard for global conferences.

The operations chief also underscored the importance of diversity at the forum. \"The 2024 Davos Forum brought in diverse representation in terms of regions, industries, and opinions,\" Podolak said. By including a wide array of voices from different sectors and parts of the world, the WEF aims to foster inclusive dialogue on pressing global issues.

These initiatives align with the WEF's broader goals of addressing the challenges facing the international community. By prioritizing sustainability and embracing a multitude of perspectives, the forum seeks to drive meaningful progress on economic, social, and environmental fronts.
