On Saturday, Xi, who is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, exchanged congratulations with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations.

\"China and Vietnam, as friendly socialist neighbors, represent a community with a shared future that carries strategic significance,\" Xi stated. He emphasized the profound friendship between the two countries, noting that they have \"fought side by side and supported each other in their struggle for national independence and liberation.\"

Xi recalled his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, during which both sides pledged to work towards a China-Vietnam community with a shared future. This commitment has elevated the relations between the two parties and countries to a new stage.

Amid unprecedented global changes, Xi highlighted the importance of China and Vietnam continuing to follow the path of socialism. He stated that this has a bearing on the future of both parties and countries, as well as significant implications for peace, stability, development, and prosperity in the region and the world.

Xi expressed his willingness to work with Vietnamese leaders to seize the opportunity presented by the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. He called for keeping in mind the original mission and forging ahead on the new journey toward socialist modernization, with the aim of delivering more benefits to the two peoples and contributing to the revitalization of the global socialist cause.
