Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed his readiness to deepen strategic mutual trust and enhance practical cooperation with Vietnam, aiming to build a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance.
On Saturday, in a message exchanged with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, President Xi highlighted the profound friendship between the two socialist neighbors as they commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
\"China and Vietnam, as friendly socialist neighbors, represent a community with a shared future that carries strategic significance,\" Xi stated. He emphasized that since establishing diplomatic relations 75 years ago, both nations have stood side by side, supporting each other in their struggles for national independence and liberation.
President Xi reminisced about his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, where both sides pledged to advance a China-Vietnam community with a shared future. This commitment has elevated the relationship between the two parties and countries to a new stage.
As the world experiences unprecedented changes, Xi underscored the importance of China and Vietnam continuing to follow the path of socialism. He noted that this commitment has significant bearing on the future of both nations and the global socialist cause, contributing to regional and global peace, stability, development, and prosperity.
\"I attach great importance to the growth of bilateral relations,\" Xi affirmed. He expressed his willingness to work with Vietnamese leaders to seize the opportunity of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. Xi called for both sides to keep in mind their original mission and forge ahead on the new journey toward socialist modernization, delivering more benefits to their peoples and contributing to human development and progress.
