Firefighters Bring Warmth to Quake-Hit Villagers in Xizang

More than a week has passed since a magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7. As resettlement and reconstruction efforts continue, stories of compassion and solidarity are emerging from the region.

In Cuo'ang Village, Quluo Town, firefighters from the Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit are going beyond their call of duty. They are not only assisting with relief efforts but also preparing lunch for villagers affected by the quake.

Our reporter, Zhao Chenchen, visited the frontline where these dedicated firefighters have become a beacon of hope for the local community. Amidst the challenges of rebuilding, the simple act of sharing a meal has brought comfort and a sense of normalcy to the villagers.

\"We want to do everything we can to help,\" said one of the firefighters. \"Cooking for the villagers is just one way we can show our support and let them know they are not alone.\"

The scene in Cuo'ang Village is a testament to the resilience and unity of people in the face of adversity. As reconstruction progresses, the collaborative efforts between residents and the firefighting unit highlight the strength of community bonds during times of crisis.

The ongoing support in Dingri County reflects a broader commitment to recovery and healing in Xizang. While challenges remain, the dedication of individuals like these firefighters offers hope for a brighter future for those affected by the earthquake.
