Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Non-CPC Personages
On Monday, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping extended warm Spring Festival greetings to members of non-Communist Party of China (CPC) political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front. The Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year.
Addressing an annual gathering with non-CPC personages, Xi, who is also General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, emphasized the significance of collective effort in achieving China's development goals for 2025 and beyond.
\"China will implement more proactive and impactful macro policies,\" Xi stated. \"We will focus on high-quality development and promote greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain sound social and economic development in 2025.\"
He called upon the non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to concentrate on central tasks and serve the country's overarching interests. Xi urged them to leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength for the nation's progress.
Highlighting the importance of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), Xi underscored the need to achieve its targets by 2025 and lay a solid foundation for the next five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, actively contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promoting high-quality development, and formulating proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).
Xi also stressed the urgency of addressing critical and challenging problems in supervising the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem. He emphasized the role of ecological conservation in ensuring sustainable development.
Regarding the private sector, Xi highlighted the pivotal role of the ACFIC. \"The ACFIC should guide the private sector in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolstering confidence in development, and establishing and improving modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features,\" he said.
As China ushers in the Lunar New Year, Xi's remarks reinforce the importance of unity and collaborative effort among all political and social groups to achieve the nation's ambitious goals.
