Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Non-CPC Personages

Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front ahead of the Spring Festival.

On Monday, at an annual gathering held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi, who is also the Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, expressed his best wishes as the nation prepares to celebrate the Spring Festival, which falls on January 29 this year.

During the event, Xi emphasized China's commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He highlighted the focus on high-quality development and the promotion of greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain robust social and economic progress in 2025.

Urging members of non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to align with central tasks and serve the country's overall interests, Xi called upon them to leverage their unique strengths. He encouraged them to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength to contribute to the nation's development goals.

Xi underscored the importance of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), laying a solid foundation for the next five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development and actively contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promoting high-quality development, and formulating proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

He also stressed the need to address critical and challenging problems in the supervision of the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem.

Furthermore, Xi noted that the ACFIC should guide the private sector in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolstering confidence in development, and establishing and improving modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.
