Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Non-CPC Personages

China's President Xi Jinping extended warm Spring Festival greetings to members of non-Communist parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front during an annual gathering held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Monday.

As the nation prepares to celebrate the Spring Festival, or Chinese Lunar New Year, which falls on January 29 this year, Xi Jinping, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his best wishes and emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in achieving China's development goals.

In his address, Xi highlighted the nation's commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He stressed the focus on high-quality development and advancing self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain robust social and economic growth in 2025.

Xi called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to align with central tasks and serve the country's overall interests. He urged them to leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and contribute wisdom and strength to national endeavors.

Underscoring the significance of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), Xi emphasized the necessity of achieving its targets by 2025 to lay a solid foundation for the subsequent five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, actively participate in comprehensively deepening reform, promote high-quality development, and contribute to the formulation of proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Addressing environmental concerns, Xi stressed the need to tackle critical and challenging problems in supervising the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem. He highlighted the importance of ecological conservation as a fundamental aspect of sustainable development.

Regarding the private sector, Xi emphasized that the ACFIC should guide private enterprises in maintaining their entrepreneurial enthusiasm and bolstering their confidence in development. He encouraged the establishment and improvement of modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features, aiming to enhance the competitiveness and vitality of private businesses.

The annual gathering reflects China's emphasis on unity and collective effort across all sectors of society to achieve its developmental aspirations. As the nation ushers in the Lunar New Year, these messages of collaboration and forward-looking vision set a positive tone for the year ahead.
