Xi Jinping Seeks Stronger China-Vietnam Ties for Shared Future

Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed his readiness to work closely with Vietnamese leaders to deepen strategic mutual trust and enhance practical cooperation, aiming for new milestones in building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance.

On Saturday, Xi, who also serves as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, exchanged congratulations with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong to commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations.

Xi highlighted the profound friendship between China and Vietnam, noting that \"so profound is the friendship between Vietnam and China, because we are both comrades and brothers.\" He emphasized that since establishing diplomatic relations 75 years ago, both countries have fought side by side and supported each other in their struggles for national independence and liberation.

In their pursuit of socialism, China and Vietnam have learned from each other, forging ahead hand in hand and deepening their comprehensive strategic cooperation. Xi pointed out that sharing the same ideals and pursuing a shared future is the most striking feature of the relations between the two parties and countries.

Recalling his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, Xi remarked that both sides pledged to work towards a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance, elevating bilateral relations to a new stage.

Amid unprecedented changes in the world, Xi stressed that China and Vietnam's continued commitment to the socialist path bears on the future of both parties and countries, and holds great significance for the peace, stability, development, and prosperity of the region and the world.

Xi expressed his commitment to the growth of bilateral relations, stating his willingness to collaborate with Vietnamese leaders to seize the opportunity presented by the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. He called for keeping in mind the original mission and forging ahead on the new journey toward socialist modernization.

By deepening cooperation and mutual understanding, Xi believes that both nations can deliver more benefits to their peoples and make significant contributions to revitalizing the global socialist cause, as well as promoting human development and progress.
