China Affirms Open Channels with EU on Intellectual Property Amid WTO Complaint
China's Ministry of Commerce announced on Monday that communication channels with the European Union (EU) regarding intellectual property issues remain open, responding to the EU's recent complaint filed at the World Trade Organization (WTO).
\"The channels of communication with the EU on intellectual property issues are always open,\" the Ministry of Commerce stated in an online response to media inquiries.
On Monday, the EU initiated a complaint at the WTO concerning China's judicial practices related to standard essential patent disputes. China acknowledged receiving a consultation request from the EU on January 20.
The Ministry emphasized that China has consistently adhered to WTO rules and its commitments since joining the organization. \"China has continually improved legislation and law enforcement related to the protection of intellectual property rights, and its achievements have been widely recognized,\" the statement read.
China affirmed that it would handle subsequent matters in accordance with WTO regulations while firmly safeguarding its legitimate rights and interests.
