At the dawn of the Lunar New Year, Chinese President Xi Jinping extended heartfelt Spring Festival greetings to non-Communist Party of China (CPC) personages, emphasizing unity and shared responsibility in shaping the nation's future.
On Monday, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi Jinping, who is also the general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, addressed members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other united front representatives.
The Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese Lunar New Year, is the most significant traditional festival in China, symbolizing renewal and family reunion. This year, it falls on January 29.
During the annual gathering, Xi Jinping highlighted China's commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. Addressing environmental concerns, Xi stressed the need to tackle critical and challenging problems in supervising the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem. He highlighted ecological preservation as a key component of China's sustainable development goals.
Xi Jinping also pointed out the vital role of the private sector in China's economy. He called on the ACFIC to guide private businesses in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and bolstering confidence in development. He advocated for the establishment and improvement of modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.
