Chinese President Xi Jinping, in his role as General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, chaired a significant meeting of the Political Bureau on Monday. The gathering focused on reviewing crucial reports and setting the agenda for the nation's high-quality development and ecological conservation efforts in the coming year.

The Political Bureau expressed full recognition for the accomplishments of the leading Party members' groups over the past year and approved their work plans for 2025. The meeting emphasized that in 2025, these groups must prioritize effective action, consolidate efforts to advance reforms, and contribute to the country's high-quality development and the realization of Chinese modernization.
The Secretariat was urged to enhance its political capabilities, strengthen strict self-governance, and diligently accomplish all tasks entrusted by the CPC Central Committee.
Highlighting the importance of the Yellow River Basin, the meeting called for the full enforcement of the Yellow River Protection Law. It underscored the need to systematically enhance water source conservation in the upper reaches, strengthen soil and water conservation in the middle reaches, and advance wetland protection and ecological governance in the lower reaches.
Efforts were also urged to ensure the safety of key dams, reservoirs, and infrastructure. The meeting stressed the importance of aligning the Yellow River's high-quality development with the nation's strategies for large-scale development of the western region and the rise of the central region.
