Xi Jinping Vows to Strengthen China-Vietnam Community with Shared Future
Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed his commitment to working with Vietnamese leaders to deepen strategic mutual trust, enhance practical cooperation, and achieve new milestones in building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance.
On Saturday, Xi, also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, exchanged congratulations with To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations.
Xi highlighted that China and Vietnam, as friendly socialist neighbors, form a community with a shared future that carries strategic importance. Since establishing diplomatic relations 75 years ago, both countries have stood side by side, supporting each other in their struggles for national independence and liberation. He noted that the profound friendship between China and Vietnam is vividly encapsulated in the phrase, \"So profound is the friendship between Vietnam and China, because we are both comrades and brothers.\"
Emphasizing their shared socialist ideals, Xi stated that both countries have learned from each other and progressed together, deepening comprehensive strategic cooperation. He underscored that China and Vietnam share the same ideals and pursue a common future, which is the most striking feature of their bilateral relations.
Recalling his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, Xi said that both sides pledged to work towards a China-Vietnam community with a shared future carrying strategic significance, elevating relations between the two parties and countries to a new level.
As unprecedented changes unfold in the world, Xi stressed that China and Vietnam's continued commitment to the socialist path affects the future of both parties and countries, as well as the global socialist cause. He emphasized the significance of this commitment for peace, stability, development, and prosperity in the region and around the world.
Xi affirmed that he attaches great importance to the development of bilateral relations and is willing to collaborate with Vietnamese leaders to seize the opportunity of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges.
