Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Non-CPC Personages

In a gesture of unity and collaboration, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front ahead of the Spring Festival.

On Monday, Xi, who is also the Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his well-wishes during an annual gathering held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year.

During the event, Xi emphasized China’s commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He highlighted the nation’s focus on high-quality development and the promotion of greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain sound social and economic progress in 2025.

Xi called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to align with central tasks, serve the country’s overall interests, and leverage their unique strengths. He encouraged them to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength to contribute to the nation’s development.

Underscoring the importance of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), Xi stressed the need to lay a solid foundation for the next five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, actively contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promote high-quality development, and formulate proposals for the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Addressing environmental concerns, Xi highlighted the need to tackle critical and challenging problems in the supervision of the Yangtze River ecosystem’s protection. He urged concerted efforts to preserve the ecological well-being of the vital waterway.

Xi also pointed out the significant role of the ACFIC in guiding the private sector. He encouraged the federation to help private enterprises maintain enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolster confidence in development, and establish and improve modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.

The annual gathering reflects China’s emphasis on unity and collaborative efforts among different political and social groups to achieve the nation’s development goals. As the country prepares to celebrate the Lunar New Year, these calls for cooperation and shared responsibility resonate with the festive spirit of renewal and collective prosperity.
