In a festive gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended heartfelt Spring Festival greetings to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front.
Xi, who also serves as Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, expressed his appreciation for the contributions of non-CPC personages in advancing China’s development. He emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration among all sectors of society as the nation approaches significant milestones.
During his address, Xi highlighted China’s commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He underscored the focus on high-quality development and the promotion of greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain sound social and economic progress through 2025.
He called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to align with the central tasks of the country, serve the overall national interests, and leverage their unique strengths. Xi encouraged them to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength to achieve shared goals.
Emphasizing the importance of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), Xi urged concerted efforts to meet its targets, laying a solid foundation for the next five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, contribute to comprehensive reforms, promote high-quality growth, and actively participate in formulating proposals for the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).
Xi also stressed the need to address critical challenges in protecting the Yangtze River ecosystem. He highlighted the role of the ACFIC in guiding the private sector to maintain enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolster confidence in development, and establish modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese characteristics.
