WEF Operations Chief Highlights Sustainability and Diversity at 2024 Davos Forum

In a recent interview with CGTN’s Global Business, Severin Podolak, Head of Event Management and Operations at the World Economic Forum (WEF), highlighted the organization’s efforts to prioritize sustainability and diversity at its events.

Podolak shared that this year’s event strived to “reduce, reuse and recycle,” implementing measures such as subsidizing participants who traveled by public transportation. These initiatives aimed to minimize the environmental footprint of the forum and promote sustainable practices among attendees.

He also noted that the 2024 Davos Forum brought in diverse representation in terms of regions, industries, and opinions. “We believe that diversity enriches the dialogue and leads to more comprehensive solutions to global challenges,” Podolak emphasized.

The WEF’s commitment to sustainability and inclusivity reflects a broader trend among international organizations to address key global issues collaboratively and responsibly. By encouraging sustainable travel and fostering a diverse participant base, the forum aims to set a precedent for future international events.
