Speaking on Saturday, President Xi made these remarks while exchanging congratulations with Vietnamese leaders on the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations.
In messages exchanged with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, Xi highlighted the profound friendship and solidarity between China and Vietnam, both socialist neighbors. “Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 75 years ago, our two countries have fought side by side and supported each other in the struggle for national independence and liberation,” Xi stated. He added that the phrase “we are both comrades and brothers” vividly portrays the strong relations between the two parties and countries.
President Xi emphasized that China and Vietnam share common ideals and aspirations in advancing socialism.
