Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Non-CPC Personages

In a gesture of unity and inclusiveness ahead of the Spring Festival, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings on Monday to non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front.

Xi, who is also the Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, participated in an annual gathering with non-CPC personages at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year, marking a significant time for family reunions and national celebrations across China.

During the event, Xi emphasized China’s commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He highlighted the nation’s focus on high-quality development and the promotion of greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology. These efforts aim to maintain a robust momentum for social and economic development in 2025.

Calling upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation, Xi urged them to concentrate on the central tasks of the nation. He encouraged them to serve the country’s overall interests and leverage their unique strengths to rally support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength more broadly.

He stressed the importance of making concerted efforts in 2025 to successfully accomplish the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025), laying a solid foundation for the subsequent five years. This plan is pivotal for China’s strategic development, aiming to propel the country toward new heights in various sectors.

The gathering underscored the spirit of cooperation and unity among China’s diverse political landscape, reaffirming the shared commitment to the nation’s prosperity and development as the country ushers in the Lunar New Year.
