Xi Jinping Pledges Deeper China-Vietnam Ties for a Shared Future

In a significant gesture marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Vietnam, Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his commitment to strengthening the bond between the two nations. President Xi conveyed his readiness to collaborate with Vietnamese leaders to deepen strategic mutual trust and enhance practical cooperation, aiming to build a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic importance.

President Xi, who is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, exchanged congratulatory messages with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong. He emphasized the profound friendship between China and Vietnam, describing them as “comrades and brothers” who have stood together in their struggles for national independence and liberation.

“Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 75 years ago, our two countries have fought side by side and supported each other,” President Xi remarked. “China and Vietnam share the same ideals and pursue a shared future, which is the most striking feature of our relations.”

Reflecting on his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, President Xi noted that both sides pledged to work towards a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance, elevating the relationship between the two parties and countries to a new level.

Amid unprecedented global changes, President Xi highlighted the importance of China and Vietnam continuing their commitment to the path of socialism. He stated that this commitment not only affects the future of both nations but also holds great significance for peace, stability, development, and prosperity in the region and the world.

President Xi expressed his intention to seize the opportunity presented by the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. He looks forward to working closely with Vietnamese leaders to benefit the peoples of both nations and contribute to the advancement of the global socialist cause and human progress.
