Firefighters Bring Warmth to Quake-Affected Xizang Villages with Home-Cooked Meals

More than a week after a magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in the Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7, resettlement and reconstruction efforts continue to bring relief to affected communities. Among those contributing to the recovery are the firefighters of the Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit.

In Cuo’ang Village, Quluo Town, Dingri County, these dedicated firefighters have taken on a new role to support the villagers—they are preparing and serving lunch to those impacted by the quake. Their efforts not only provide much-needed nourishment but also bring comfort and a sense of normalcy to the residents as they rebuild their lives.

The firefighters’ gesture goes beyond their usual duties, highlighting a strong sense of community and solidarity in times of hardship. As reconstruction progresses, acts of kindness like these play a vital role in fostering resilience and hope among the villagers of Cuo’ang.
