Ceasefire in Gaza Nears as U.S. and Egypt Push for Final Agreement

Negotiations to establish a ceasefire in Gaza have reached a critical stage, with officials expressing optimism that an agreement is imminent. Marathon talks held in Doha, Qatar, have brought together representatives from the United States, Egypt, Qatar, Israel, and Hamas, all working towards a truce in the besieged enclave and the release of hostages.

After more than eight hours of discussions on Wednesday, both sides have been presented with a draft text outlining the terms of the ceasefire. Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Majed Al-Ansari, confirmed that negotiations are focusing on finalizing the remaining details.

U.S. President Joe Biden, whose administration is participating alongside an envoy of President-elect Donald Trump, indicated that a deal is close. \
