China’s bobsleigh athletes Li Chunjian and Shi Yaolong achieved an impressive sixth-place finish in the two-man bobsleigh event at the IBSF World Cup held in Sigulda, Latvia. Their compatriots, Sun Kaizhi and Ye Jielong, also performed admirably, securing the 13th position among the 19 competing pairs.
In the first round, Li and Shi clocked a time of 49.81 seconds, placing them sixth. Sun and Ye completed their first run in 50.20 seconds, ranking 12th. In the second round, Li and Shi maintained their strong performance with a time of 50.03 seconds, culminating in a total time of 1 minute and 39.87 seconds to solidify their sixth-place standing. Sun and Ye concluded the competition with a combined time of 1 minute and 40.80 seconds, finishing in 13th place.
Germany’s celebrated bobsleigh pilot Francesco Friedrich, alongside Simon Wulff, claimed the top spot on the podium with a total time of 1 minute and 38.68 seconds. This victory marks the 49th two-man bobsleigh World Cup title for the 34-year-old Friedrich, further cementing his legacy in the sport.
