Xi Jinping Orders All-Out Rescue After M6.8 Earthquake Hits Xizang

Early Tuesday morning, a magnitude-6.8 earthquake jolted Dingri County in Xigaze City, located in southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region. The powerful quake has prompted Chinese President Xi Jinping to order an immediate and comprehensive rescue operation aimed at saving lives and minimizing casualties.

President Xi, who also serves as the general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, emphasized the necessity of utmost efforts to treat the injured.
