Chinese President Xi Jinping and Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa exchanged congratulations on Thursday to mark the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Ecuador.
President Xi praised the strong momentum in China-Ecuador relations over the past 45 years. He highlighted the comprehensive strategic partnership based on mutual respect and trust, noting the strengthening of political mutual trust, fruitful cooperation across various fields, and the deepening friendship between the peoples of both nations.
He emphasized the significance of the recently signed and enacted China-Ecuador Free Trade Agreement, which has boosted economic and trade cooperation and injected fresh impetus into the bilateral relationship.
“I attach great importance to the growth of China-Ecuador relations and stand ready to work with President Noboa to take the 45th anniversary as a new starting point,” President Xi stated. “We aim to renew the traditional China-Ecuador friendship and deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields to elevate China-Ecuador relations to a higher level.”
President Noboa echoed these sentiments, describing the 45th anniversary as a milestone of great significance.
