China has expressed its willingness to provide emergency humanitarian aid to Vanuatu following a powerful earthquake that has caused significant casualties and property losses in the Pacific island nation.
Li Ming, spokesperson for the China International Development Cooperation Agency, announced on Wednesday that China is prepared to assist “in accordance with the needs of the Vanuatu side.”
“China expresses its sympathies and concerns over the casualties and property losses in Vanuatu caused by the earthquake,” Li stated.
The offer underscores China’s commitment to supporting neighboring countries in times of crisis and enhancing regional cooperation. Vanuatu, prone to natural disasters due to its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire, has been grappling with the aftermath of the quake.
Details regarding the scale of aid and specific assistance measures are yet to be disclosed. However, China’s readiness to help reflects a broader initiative to strengthen ties and provide support within the Asia-Pacific region.
