Business cooperation across the Taiwan Strait is poised to deepen, as entrepreneurs from both sides express strong expectations for enhanced exchanges and collaboration in the economic sphere.
Song Tao, head of both the Taiwan Work Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, reaffirmed the Chinese mainland’s commitment to promoting economic and cultural exchanges across the Strait. He emphasized the importance of deepening cross-Strait integrated development and delivering tangible benefits to Taiwan compatriots.
“We hope Taiwan business people will make further contributions to cross-Strait economic exchanges, cooperation, and integrated development,” Song said during his meeting with representatives of Taiwan entrepreneurs.
The meeting took place at the 2024 annual conference of the Cross-Straits CEO Summit, which opened on Monday in Xiamen, Fujian Province. The event, themed on cross-Strait industrial chains, gathered more than 700 participants from business circles on both sides of the Strait.
Taiwan entrepreneurs expressed optimism about the Chinese mainland’s economic resilience and vitality. They highlighted the promising prospects of developing new quality productive forces and pledged to leverage the Cross-Straits CEO Summit to deepen economic cooperation and integrated development across the Strait.
As the conference progresses, entrepreneurs from the mainland and Taiwan are expected to explore new avenues for collaboration, fostering a shared vision of prosperity and mutual growth in the region.
