A delegation of 40 students and teachers from seven Chinese mainland universities arrived at Taiwan’s Taoyuan International Airport on Wednesday, marking the beginning of a nine-day visit to the island. The trip aims to strengthen academic exchanges and enhance mutual understanding across the Taiwan Strait.
Invited by the Taiwan-based Ma Ying-jeou Culture and Education Foundation, the delegation is led by Qiu Yong, chairman of Tsinghua University Council. During their stay, the group is expected to visit several universities, participate in cultural activities, and engage in discussions with local educators and students.
The visit represents a significant opportunity for young scholars from both sides to connect and share perspectives. It also reflects ongoing efforts to promote peace and cooperation through educational and cultural exchanges.
