Remains of 43 Chinese Martyrs to Return Home from ROK after Decades

The remains of 43 Chinese People’s Volunteers (CPV) martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea are set to be repatriated to the Chinese mainland from the Republic of Korea (ROK) on November 28, according to China’s Ministry of Veterans Affairs.

A Chinese delegation, accompanied by a team from the Guard of Honor of the People’s Liberation Army and a transport aircraft, has departed for the ROK to undertake the solemn mission of bringing the fallen heroes home.

In a ceremony scheduled at a temporary storage facility in Incheon on the morning of November 28, the coffins will be sealed, and the official transfer documents for the martyrs’ remains will be finalized. The Chinese delegation, along with representatives from the Chinese Embassy in the ROK, will then hold a memorial service at Incheon International Airport.

Following the service, the remains will be transported by air to the Chinese mainland. A formal welcome ceremony is planned at Shenyang Taoxian Airport, honoring the martyrs upon their return. On the morning of November 29, a solemn burial ceremony will be held at a cemetery in Shenyang, where the martyrs will be laid to rest with full honors.

The repatriation of the martyrs’ remains underscores the deep respect and gratitude held by the Chinese people for those who gave their lives in the defense of their country. The War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, fought in the early 1950s, remains a significant chapter in China’s modern history, symbolizing solidarity and the profound sacrifices made for national sovereignty and peace.
