China’s 12th National Traditional Games of Ethnic Minorities Kick Off in Sanya

The coastal city of Sanya in Hainan Province came alive on Friday as the 12th National Traditional Games of Ethnic Minorities officially commenced. Athletes representing 35 delegations from across China gathered to compete in this grand event, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and sporting prowess of the nation’s diverse ethnic groups.

Nearly 7,000 athletes have converged in Sanya to participate in 18 traditional sports along with three demonstration sports. The games provide a unique platform for athletes from various ethnic backgrounds to celebrate their traditions, strengthen unity, and promote intercultural exchange.
