Israeli warplanes reportedly attacked the office of Syria’s Ba’ath Party in central Beirut on Sunday noon, according to local TV channel al-Jadeed and AFP.
The strike occurred in the Ras al-Nabaa area, near the French embassy and a university, as reported by the official Lebanon National News Agency. “The enemy carried out a strike on Ras al-Nabaa,” the agency stated.
A security source, requesting anonymity, told AFP that the strike targeted “the Lebanese branch of the Syrian Ba’ath Party,” whose office is located “in an apartment.”
This incident has raised concerns over escalating tensions in the region, underscoring the ongoing complexities of Middle Eastern geopolitics. The impact of the strike on local communities and regional stability remains to be seen.
