China-Designed IKEA Products Become Global Hits, Says IKEA China VP at CIIE

At the seventh China International Import Expo (CIIE) held in Shanghai, Cindy Ruan, vice president of IKEA China, highlighted the global success of products designed and manufactured in China. Speaking at a press event on Friday, Ruan emphasized China’s distinctive capability in innovation.

“We have seen that many of our products designed and manufactured in China have become global hits,” she stated. The success of these products underscores the strength of China’s innovation and its growing influence on the international stage.

Ruan shared that last year’s IKEA exhibition stand at CIIE attracted 40,000 visitors. “Just before I came here today, they told me our stand had already reached 10,000 visitors,” she told the press. The overwhelming visitor engagement provides IKEA with invaluable immediate feedback on their products.

“I don’t believe any other exhibition in China can put together as many high-level dialogues as CIIE,” Ruan remarked. “Such dialogues are very meaningful for companies. They help us understand the current focus of attention in our industry and society.”

The CIIE continues to serve as a significant platform for companies like IKEA to showcase their innovations and engage with a wide audience, reflecting the dynamic and influential role of China in global affairs.
