China has voiced its readiness to strengthen communication, expand cooperation, and resolve differences with the United States to promote sound and sustainable development of bilateral economic and trade relations, according to He Yongqian, spokesperson for the Chinese Commerce Ministry.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, He emphasized China’s commitment to working with the U.S. side based on the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation. “China is prepared to collaborate with the United States to enhance our economic and trade ties, ensuring they develop in a healthy and sustainable manner,” He stated.
The spokesperson’s remarks come amid concerns over the possibility of the U.S. imposing additional tariffs on Chinese imports and implementing curbs on Chinese hi-tech sectors. He addressed these issues, expressing hope that both nations can manage their differences constructively.
“It is essential for both sides to maintain open lines of communication to address any challenges that may arise,” He said. “By focusing on common interests and fostering cooperation, we can achieve mutual benefits and contribute to global economic stability.”
China’s overture highlights the importance of the Sino-U.S. relationship in the global economic landscape. As the world’s two largest economies, their collaboration is seen as pivotal for international trade and economic growth.
