Finland’s Trade Minister Leads Delegation to CIIE in Shanghai

Finland’s Minister for Foreign Trade and Development, Ville Tavio, is set to lead a trade delegation to the upcoming China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, the Finnish government announced on Friday.

“China is an important trading partner for Finland, so it is useful to support export promotion and trade in sectors that benefit Finnish businesses. This is the fourth time that Finland has a national pavilion at the CIIE,” Tavio stated in a press release.

The China International Import Expo, held annually in Shanghai, is a significant event that showcases a wide range of international products and services to the Chinese market. Finland’s participation underscores the growing economic ties between the two countries.

According to the press release, Shanghai is home to the largest cluster of Finnish businesses in China, highlighting the city’s importance as a hub for Finnish enterprises seeking opportunities in the region.

Following engagements in Shanghai, Tavio and the delegation will travel to Shenzhen in southern China, a city renowned for its innovation and tech industry. The visit aims to explore collaboration prospects and strengthen business relations.

The delegation will conclude their visit in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, further emphasizing Finland’s interest in deepening connections within the Asian market.

The trade mission, scheduled from November 4 to 8, reflects Finland’s commitment to fostering international trade partnerships and supporting Finnish businesses in expanding their global presence.
