Entering the final with the fastest qualifying time and swimming in lane four, Tang showcased her exceptional talent. Having broken the Asian record at the Shanghai stop last week, she was in a strong position as she led after the first turn.
The Paris Olympics silver medalist maintained her lead throughout the race, touching the wall first with an impressive time of one minute, 2.82 seconds. Alina Zmushka of Belarus secured the silver medal, while Canada’s Sophie Angus took bronze.
