7th China International Import Expo Set to Boost Global Trade

Shanghai Gears Up for 7th China International Import Expo

The 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) is slated to take place in Shanghai from November 5 to 10, as announced by China’s Ministry of Commerce at a press conference in Beijing on Wednesday.

Covering over 420,000 square meters, this year’s expo is set to welcome participants from 152 countries and various international organizations. Notably, 297 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders will showcase their latest products, technologies, and services. A new materials zone will debut, highlighting cutting-edge innovations in the sector.

Concurrent with the expo, the Hongqiao International Economic Forum will feature a main forum and 19 thematic sub-forums. This platform aims to facilitate in-depth discussions on global economic trends and policy coordination among world leaders and industry experts.

According to Tang Wenhong, assistant minister of commerce, the first six CIIEs witnessed the debut of nearly 2,500 new products, technologies, and services, with cumulative intended transactions surpassing $420 billion. “As a result of the expo, foreign companies have established new stores, factories, and research and development centers in China,” Tang added.

This year’s CIIE will also emphasize inclusivity by featuring exhibitors from 37 least-developed countries. Over 120 complimentary booths will be provided to support their participation, demonstrating China’s commitment to shared global growth.
