Xi Jinping Praises China-Russia Relations as Model for Major Countries

In Kazan on Tuesday, Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized that China and Russia have discovered an effective path for neighboring major countries to coexist harmoniously. During a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Xi highlighted that their relationship is characterized by non-alliance, non-confrontation, and not targeting any third party.

“China and Russia have found the right way for neighboring major countries to get along with each other,” Xi stated. “Our partnership is built on mutual respect and benefits, without forming alliances or engaging in confrontations, and it does not target any third party.”

President Xi arrived earlier in the day in Kazan to attend the 16th BRICS Summit. The summit brings together leaders from Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa to discuss economic cooperation and global governance.

The meeting between Xi and Putin underscores the importance of China-Russia relations in the current global landscape. Their discussion is expected to cover various topics, including bilateral trade, regional security, and cooperation within the BRICS framework.

Observers note that the approach taken by China and Russia could serve as a model for other major nations seeking peaceful and constructive relationships. By avoiding alliances and confrontations, and by not targeting other countries, they aim to promote stability and prosperity in the region.

The 16th BRICS Summit provides an opportunity for member countries to reinforce their commitment to multilateralism and strengthen economic ties. As the world faces numerous challenges, collaboration among these emerging economies is seen as vital for fostering global growth and addressing common issues.
