Amid escalating tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, over 200 Chinese citizens have been successfully evacuated from Lebanon in a coordinated two-phase operation.
The first group, consisting of 69 Chinese citizens and 11 foreign family members, reached Cyprus by boat on Tuesday. The second batch, comprising 146 Chinese citizens and five foreign family members, landed in Beijing early Wednesday on a chartered flight.
One of the evacuees shared his emotional journey, stating, “When I entered the cabin and heard the greeting ‘Welcome home,’ I knew I was safe.” His words echo the relief and gratitude felt by many who faced uncertainty amidst the conflict. “Thank you to our great motherland,” he added, expressing deep appreciation for the swift evacuation efforts.
The successful evacuation underscores China’s commitment to the safety and well-being of its citizens abroad. As tensions continue in the region, the timely response provided a sense of security to those caught in the midst of the unrest.
