China Launches Smart Dragon-3 Rocket, Deploys Eight Satellites in Offshore Launch

On Tuesday, China successfully launched a Smart Dragon-3 carrier rocket from offshore waters near the city of Haiyang in east China’s Shandong Province, placing eight satellites into their planned orbits.

The commercial rocket lifted off at 10:31 a.m. Beijing Time, carrying the Tianyi-41 satellite along with seven others. The Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center carried out this offshore launch, marking a significant achievement in China’s maritime space operations.

Launching from the waters near Haiyang demonstrates China’s innovative approach to space exploration, utilizing sea-based platforms to enhance launch flexibility and efficiency.
