China Opposes External Interference in Myanmar, Calls for Peaceful Resolution

Naypyidaw, Myanmar – In a strong statement issued on Saturday, the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar voiced its firm opposition to any external forces interfering in Myanmar’s internal affairs. The embassy emphasized China’s stance against words and deeds that attempt to sow discord in the longstanding relationship between China and Myanmar.

The embassy spokesperson responded to recent accusations by certain media outlets and individuals alleging that China is meddling in Myanmar’s domestic matters. “China firmly supports Myanmar in safeguarding its independence, sovereignty, national unity, and territorial integrity,” the spokesperson declared. “We insist on non-interference in internal affairs and adhere to a peace process owned and led by the Myanmar people.”

Underscoring the depth of the bilateral relationship, the spokesperson highlighted that China’s friendly policy towards Myanmar is intended for all the people of Myanmar. “We hope that relevant parties in Myanmar will achieve a ceasefire and settle disputes in a peaceful manner,” the spokesperson added. “This will facilitate the stabilization and de-escalation of the situation in northern Myanmar and the country as a whole.”

The Chinese Embassy’s remarks come amid tensions in northern Myanmar and concerns over regional stability. By reaffirming its commitment to non-interference and supporting a Myanmar-led peace process, China aims to strengthen mutual trust and cooperation between the two neighboring countries.

China and Myanmar share a long history of diplomatic relations, characterized by economic partnerships and cultural exchanges. As Myanmar navigates its internal challenges, China’s stance reflects a desire to maintain harmony and foster collaborative efforts for peace and development in the region.
