Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH) has intensified efforts to prevent the spread of mpox Clade I infection by updating detection, tracing, isolation, and vaccination measures.
Announced on Wednesday, the MOH is calling for heightened vigilance among medical practitioners and healthcare institutions to detect and report mpox cases promptly. This proactive approach aims to curb potential outbreaks and safeguard public health.
Under the new measures, close contacts of confirmed Clade I cases will be quarantined in designated government facilities for 21 days. This step is crucial to monitor their health status and prevent further transmission.
Suspected Clade I cases will be isolated immediately while awaiting test results. Individuals who test positive will continue to be isolated in healthcare facilities until they are no longer infectious, ensuring comprehensive care and containment.
The MOH’s updated protocols reflect Singapore’s commitment to maintaining strict public health standards amid global health concerns. Residents are encouraged to stay informed and follow guidelines issued by health authorities.
