China is set to host the 2024 Internet Civilization Conference on August 28 and 29 in Chengdu, the vibrant capital of southwest China’s Sichuan Province. Organizers announced on Monday that the event aims to promote the spirit of the times and jointly advance civility in cyberspace.
The conference will feature a main forum and an opening ceremony, along with several sub-forums that delve into pressing issues in the digital realm. Yang Jianwen, deputy chief of the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission and the Cyberspace Administration of China, highlighted that the conference will address topics such as fostering civility online, strengthening community among the Chinese nation, protecting minors in the digital environment, and enhancing cultural strength through internet art development.
In addition, sub-forums on artificial intelligence and online law enforcement will focus on ensuring a sound business environment in the rapidly evolving digital economy.
