The Supreme People’s Court (SPC) of China announced on Wednesday its commitment to enhance the law-based protection of property rights and personality rights for private enterprises and entrepreneurs. This move signifies a significant step towards bolstering the confidence of private businesses in the country’s legal system.
Emphasizing the need to prevent administrative and criminal interference in economic disputes, the SPC called for effective measures to minimize the negative impact of lawsuits on business operations and production. Data from the SPC revealed that approximately 1.27 million commercial cases of the first instance were settled across the country in the first half of this year, marking a 13.5 percent decrease year on year. This commitment aligns with a recent resolution adopted by the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. The resolution emphasizes the improvement of the property rights system to ensure equitable protection for all economic entities, irrespective of ownership forms.
