China Welcomes Iranian President-Elect Pezeshkian’s Commitment to Strengthened Ties

China has expressed appreciation for Iranian President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian’s recent remarks on enhancing China-Iran relations, signaling a commitment to strengthen bilateral ties as both nations navigate complex regional and international landscapes.

In an article published on Saturday in the Tehran Times, Pezeshkian emphasized Iran’s value of its traditional friendship with China and expressed eagerness to collaborate more extensively with Beijing “as we advance towards a new global order.”

At a press briefing on Monday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian responded to Pezeshkian’s remarks, highlighting the long history of friendly exchanges between China and Iran. “Since the establishment of diplomatic ties over half a century ago, China-Iran relations have experienced consistent and steady development,” Lin stated.

He noted that despite complex regional and international situations, China and Iran have consistently supported each other, working together to strengthen strategic mutual trust. The two countries have steadily promoted exchanges and cooperation across various fields, maintaining sound communication and coordination on regional and international affairs.

“This has not only benefited the Chinese and Iranian people but also contributed to regional and world peace and stability,” the spokesperson added.

Lin affirmed China’s readiness to work with the new Iranian government to promote the steady and long-term development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations. “China attaches great importance to the development of China-Iran relations,” he said.

The reaffirmation of mutual commitment comes at a critical time as both countries face evolving geopolitical challenges and opportunities. Observers note that enhanced cooperation between China and Iran could have significant implications for regional dynamics and global affairs.
