In an article published on Saturday in the Tehran Times, Pezeshkian emphasized Iran’s value of its traditional friendship with China and expressed eagerness to collaborate more extensively with Beijing “as we advance towards a new global order.”
At a press briefing on Monday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian responded to Pezeshkian’s remarks, highlighting the long history of friendly exchanges between China and Iran. “Since the establishment of diplomatic ties over half a century ago, China-Iran relations have experienced consistent and steady development,” Lin stated.
He noted that despite complex regional and international situations, China and Iran have consistently supported each other, working together to strengthen strategic mutual trust.
