The Tenth Nishan Forum on World Civilizations has commenced in Qufu City, the hometown of Confucius, in east China’s Shandong Province. Under the theme “Traditional Culture and Modern Civilization,” the forum brings together scholars, thinkers, and cultural enthusiasts from around the world to engage in meaningful dialogue on the intersection of ancient wisdom and contemporary society.
From July 10 to 11, participants will partake in a series of activities including high-level interviews, parallel forums, and keynote speeches. The event aims to foster understanding and cooperation among different cultures, highlighting the relevance of Confucian philosophy in addressing modern challenges.
“In a rapidly changing world, it’s crucial to revisit traditional values and explore how they can inform our present and future,” remarked one of the keynote speakers at the opening ceremony. The forum serves as a platform for exchanging ideas on cultural heritage, moral principles, and the development of a more harmonious global community.
This year’s gathering holds particular significance as it marks the tenth anniversary of the Nishan Forum, which has consistently promoted cultural exchange and mutual learning among civilizations. By hosting the event in Qufu, organizers emphasize the enduring legacy of Confucius and the continued importance of his teachings in today’s world.
