International Experts Hail President Xi’s SCO Speech as Boost for Global Peace

At the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit held in Astana, international experts have lauded President Xi Jinping’s speech, emphasizing its significance in promoting global peace and fostering solidarity among member states.

Yersultan Zhanseitov, a senior researcher at the Institute of World Economics and Politics, highlighted President Xi’s emphasis on the “Shanghai Spirit.” “The ‘Shanghai Spirit’ rejects bloc confrontation and champions cooperation based on mutual respect,” Zhanseitov noted. “Building a new and fair world order requires adherence to the principle of mutual respect, aligning with President Xi’s concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind.”

Andrei Kortunov, the academic director of the Russian International Affairs Council, praised the three global initiatives proposed by President Xi—the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative. “China holds great influence within the SCO, and these initiatives will guide the organization forward,” Kortunov stated. “I believe China’s presidency of the SCO will advance both the security and development agendas.”

Farhat Asif, president of the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies, echoed these sentiments. “The SCO stands on the right side of history,” Asif affirmed. “The organization delivers a message of cooperation, dialogue, and common development.”

Experts across the globe recognize the SCO’s growing influence in international affairs. Chea Monyrith, president of the Chinese Cambodian Evolution Researcher Association, observed, “President Xi’s proposal to foster a sense of a community with a shared future has become a crucial mechanism for mutual support and cooperation among SCO members.”

Serbian politician Srdan Milivojevic agreed with President Xi’s perspective on solidarity and cooperation as pillars of the SCO’s success. “It’s the inevitable choice for the SCO to adapt to new global circumstances,” Milivojevic commented. “We have high expectations for China’s presidency of the SCO, as China advocates for a multipolar world characterized by equality, order, mutual benefit, and inclusiveness. We anticipate China will further promote genuine multilateralism on the international stage on behalf of developing countries.”

The consensus among these experts underscores the pivotal role of the SCO and President Xi’s leadership in shaping a more peaceful and cooperative international landscape.
