Zheng, known for her powerful serves, launched a fierce comeback in the second set, delivering more aces than her opponent. The competition intensified as both players exchanged two breaks, bringing the score to an even 4-4.

The pivotal ninth game saw Siniakova convert another break, giving her a 5-4 lead as she headed into her service game. Despite Zheng’s relentless efforts, Siniakova maintained her composure in the final game, ultimately bringing up match point. A critical moment unfolded as Zheng hit the ball out of bounds, sealing her defeat against Siniakova for the second time in their three career encounters.
