Beijing: In a significant step toward strengthening bilateral relations, Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with Equatorial Guinean President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo on Wednesday at the Great Hall of the People. The two leaders announced the elevation of their countries’ relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation.
Premier Li highlighted the deep-rooted friendship between China and Equatorial Guinea, noting that mutual trust and support have been the defining characteristics of their 54-year diplomatic relationship. “Our nations have stood by each other through times of change and development,” Li said. “China is committed to working closely with Equatorial Guinea to uphold international fairness and justice and to steadfastly safeguard the common interests of the Global South.”
