Chinese Vice President Han Zheng and Russian President Vladimir Putin attended the opening ceremony of the 8th China-Russia Expo in Harbin, northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province, on Friday.

During the ceremony, Vice President Han read out a congratulatory letter from Chinese President Xi Jinping and delivered a speech. Han emphasized the strengthening ties between China and Russia, noting that President Xi and President Putin met in Beijing on Thursday and jointly outlined a new vision and blueprint for the development of the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era.

“This year marks the 75th anniversary of China-Russia diplomatic relations,” Han said. “Our two countries have deepened political mutual trust and achieved fruitful economic and trade cooperation.”

The expo serves as a significant platform to enhance bilateral trade and economic collaboration. With both nations seeking to expand cooperation in various sectors, the event aims to foster new opportunities for businesses and investors from both countries.

President Putin’s attendance underscores the importance Russia places on its relationship with China. The participation of high-level officials from both countries signifies a mutual commitment to further strengthening ties.
